"Every mans life is a fairytale written by God"

My "fairytale" Blog

So I decided to start a blog. ME! I have thought about it many a times. I always thought it was such a silly thing. But I got to thinking about it and it's really not any sillier than Facebook or Myspace. If anything, it's better because you are using it as a journal. It's good to write things down, ya know, expressing yourself. And I dunno about you but I have a hard time writing in my Journal sometimes. I will be really good, and write every night and than I go months without writing in it! I am terrible! But I thought this may help me keep better track of my life. I absoulutly love going back through my old journals and reading about all the fun memories and crazy things I did! I am sure there is so much I have forgotten because I don't write in my journal daily. Hopefully keeping this blog will help! If you haven't guess my so called "theme for my blog is a fairytale. Life isn't really a fairytale, but we can make it one. Positive attitudes really do a lot. I am still working on that myself. Sometimes it's hard but I have learned that it really doesn't help to be mad at things you can't control. So go on! Make your fairytale life! It's never too late to get started!

cheesy pick up lines and fireworks

I love the 4th of July. It's my second favorite holiday. Halloween definitely takes the gold! The 4th is on a Sunday this year, and most people hate it but I am loving it! That means we get to celebrate it for 3 days instead of 1! What's better than that? NOTHING! On Saturday my peeps and I went to the Davis fireworks. It was swell! Oh, I just love fireworks! They are so amazing! :) haha I just love my friends as well! We got into a discussion afterwords about cheesy pick up lines. We talked about them for over an hour. One of my good friends started to make some up! His were better than the real ones! haha Here were some of the ones I heard:

-If I had a nickle for every girl as pretty as you I would have a nickle! (I have had that used on me before)

-Do you like doughnuts cause you are scrumptious!

-Do you like breakfast cause your "bacon"

-Do you like rubber duckies because you're the one!

-I think your first name goes great with my last name!

-Do you like tulips? Than why don't you bring your "Two lips" closer to mine!

-What's your favorite country? Mine's Per'U'

-What's your favorite color? Mine's you!

-What's your favorite animal? Mine's you!

-What's your favorite continent? Mine's 'U'roupe!

-What's your favorite temple? Mine's you!

-Do you like tacos cause I like to "talk to" you!

-We should hold hands cause... if one of us gets thrown out of the car the other one can... hold the other one in. So it's safer! hahaha

-Do you like water? Than you like 70 percent of my body!

-Do you like sesame street cause I wanna be your neighbor?

-I'm not trying to impress you or anything but... I'm batman!

It twas a fun night! :) haha

St. George trip

Oy, so when I started this blog I was so excited about it. I did so good about writing every night. But now... now life is busy and I have fallen very behind on my blogging. Dang, I need to do better!

So a lot has happened recently. Two weeks ago I went on a trip to St. George. One of my really good friends singles ward was going and she invited me to go with them! It was so much fun! We only found out about the trip 2 days before they were leaving. They were going to go do baptisms at the St. George temple and I didn't have my recommend. I was lucky enough to get a bishops interview spur of the moment!

We stayed in this magnificent house! It was HUGE and very beautiful! While we were there we went on a 3 mile hike up a temple quarry. The mountain was covered with black rocks. Apparently it used to be a volcano. It was really pretty. Once we got to the top we carved our names into the rocks! I was very ... inexperienced with a knife so mine looked like it came from a four year old! haha

The house the boys were staying in had a swimming pool, tennis, racket ball and basketball courts. Kind of not fair... haha We spent a whole day swimming in a pool that was so warm it could have been a hot tub! It was amazing! We also got to see two plays at the Tuchan theater. We saw Tarzan and Cats. Tarzan was... interesting. I think it should stay as a Disney movie rather than a musical. When we saw it, it was so windy outside. It felt as though a tornado was passing through. Poor Tarzan. I thought his loin cloth was going to blow away at any second!!!!

Cats was... interesting as well. For those of you who don't know what it's about, join the club. I saw the musical and I STILL don't know what it's about! But I must say, the dancing and costumes in that play are amazing! It was very entertaining!

We got the privilege to go to the St. George Temple. Oh my good gravy! It was amazing!! I think it was one of my favorite parts of the trip! It was beautiful! I have never seen a building that white before. It was so pretty I couldn't look away. It had this radiance about it.

It was cool because I haven't been inside the temple since I was 12 years old. I forgot how cool it is and how powerful the spirit is inside the temple! The peaceful feelings you get inside of it, you can't find that anywhere else. The St. George temple is now one of my favorite temples and I am blessed to have been able to go inside and perform baptisms!

We got to visit Brigham Young's Winter Home as well. That was kind of cool to see where he lived.

That is pretty much what we did on our trip. We had a lot of down time in which we played a lot of games and talked and ate. It was lots of fun! Some of Kayla and my favorite parts were:

-"I think Brigham Young's house was better than John Hamblens... because it had air conditioning!" -Me

-"This is literally a midnight snack" -Kayla

-"I'm tired... I need a nap!" -Kayla

-"Goodbye Jack, it was nice knowing ya!" -Me

-"Clear... It's so clear it's white!" -Chris

-"Shakira Shakira!" -Chris

-"This looks like an engagement photo" -Kent

-Kent: "The soap in the bathroom smells so good" (Kayla smells her hands) haha

-The scary bugs outside on the patio!!!

-The bugs in the car on the ride down there!

-"Don't worry, there is nothing to be afraid of!"

These are really only funny to Kayla and I haha

This was a great experience and I hope I get to experience another one like it! :)

Brain Bubble

So it's late... REALLY late! Ah, 4 in the morning late! Get it now? SEE?! Yeah, feel my pain? Well, for the last few weeks I just cannot sleep. It's impossible. I have to get up in a few hours for work. Isn't that peachy? Well, the good thing is I do function... fairy well on 2 hours of sleep. And when I say fairly well I mean I won't fall asleep standing up!

When I start writing these blogs I never know what to write. I always get a huge brain bubble. I just go with the flow. So, lets see what happens this time... So graduation just happened a few days ago. That is crazy insane! I remember last year when I graduated. It seems like so long ago. Much longer than a year. Weird! I feel so old. If I feel this way now how is it going to be 10 years from now? Hmmm...

Here comes that brain block I was talking about...

.....

dot dot dot dot 15 min. later

So lately I have been thinking a lot about the temple. A good friend of mine goes a couple times a week. She is amazing! She is a great role model to me and I almost feel like God put in my path for a reason. We became good friends not that long ago and I believe it was for a reason. I think it was an answer to my prayers. God knows exactly what we need in our lives. I haven't been to the temple since I was 13. I mean I haven't really thought about it much. And now I just get this feeling that I really need to go. I really think it's because of my friend, and of course the holy spirit! :)

I also have been invited by this friend and one of my other good friends to go to their stake institute class. I went for the first time last time. It was really good! There were some times when it really was amazing. I love those moments when things just really hit you. Where you just feel the spirit so strongly! I felt that a couple times. There was this guy there who had got home from his mission that day and decided to come to institute. I thought that was pretty cool! He got up and talked and bore his testimony. It was touching to me. I really felt something when he talked!! I am thankful for all these new spiritual experiences and opportunities I have been given these last few weeks! The lord works in great ways and I am so thankful to have him in my life. He is my light and is always there! It doesn't get better than that!

Mount Rushmore, South Dakota

Oh wow.... It's been awhile since I have been on here. So i went on a road trip with my sister Denise, brother Jason and brothers friend Andrya. We went to South Dakota to see the famous Mount Rushmore! It was pretty sweet. I must say, the drive there is no fun. I am one who actually doesn't mind LONG car trips. My sister lives in Wisconsin and we have driven there a couple times, it's a 3 day road trip. I have no problem being in the car that long. But I HATE driving through those crappy states where there is no civilization. Wyoming is the worst the drive through. It's so flat and there is no life, not even any bushes. It's all... brown and dry. It's no fun!
But South Dakota is the Greenest place I have ever seen. It has TONS of tall pretty trees and lots of cool rocks. It was beautiful place. Mount Rushmore was pretty cool. We got to walk around it and took lots of pictures of it. Nothing too exciting. At night they do a lighting ceremony where once it gets dark they shine a huge spotlight on it and light it up. It looks pretty cool! They also show a documentary about all the presidents who are on it and they had all the military veterans in the audience come down and they did a special salute for them. It was cool! a
We also went to Custer National Park. We got to drive around and see all the animal in their natural habitat. I was pretty tired that day so I actually slept most of that day. haha But I did see a lot of Buffalo and Donkeys. The donkeys would come right up to your windows because they wanted food. My sister rolled down her window to take a picture and two of the donkeys came and stuck their heads in the window and wouldn't move. So I gave one of them a cracker. They were cute! We rolled up the window but they wanted more food so they started licking my windows!! It was funny but now I am in desperate need of a car wash!!
It was cool cause I not only got to feed a donkey but I fed a Prairie dog. We stopped at a rest stop and there were tons of prairie dogs. I decided to hold out some food to see if they would come get it. They did! One even jumped up on my hand! It was so cool! They are adorable creatures and one day I am going to get one!
We also took a short detour and went to a place called Devils Tower. It's a huge huge rock that you can hike around. It had lots of pretty trees and cool rocks. You also can rock climb it if you are an adrenalin junkie and are very talented! Maybe someday..

We got to hike through a cave, which was my favorite part of the whole trip. They had some pretty cool formations. One was called the popcorn because it really did look like popcorn! It was a pretty cave!
On the way home we stopped at a place called the Mammoth Museum. It was a geographical site of a place where they found mammoth bones and fossils. They turned it into a museum so you can walk through and see the actual site. You can also make appointments and you can go help them dig for more fossil! I thought that was kind of cool! It was actually a pretty cool museum. It was a lot better than it sounded!
It was a fun trip and i enjoyed it but it was very tiring. I spent the whole day after we got home resting because I was so tired from the trip, even though we didn't do much! It's funny how not doing anything makes you more tired! I almost didn't go on this trip but I am glad I went. My goal is to go to every state in the U.S and now I can knock another one off of my list! I still have a lot left to go but I am now one step closer! Ah, victory is SWEET! :)

Good Ol' High School Memories

So I work for the city and help out with events they host. They are all family oriented and there are always lots of kids around. I love little kids. They are so joyful and really make life interesting! haha Oh, they make me giggle! Anyways, I don't work a ton, just whenever they have events going on. But I got to work today at a track meet. Kids from ages 6 to 14 ran 400 and 200 meter sprints. They also did a long jump with which I helped out with. :) I got to rake the sand and record scores and measure. It was fun! I just love being around all the kids, the things they say and do are so silly!
Most of the other people I work with are younger than me. They are still in high school. Some are graduating this year. It's kind of weird sometimes because they are talking about their stage of life and than I am just kind of ... there. (sigh...) But what can you do? I mean, I am at a totally different stage of life than they are! College really changes a person. You don't have as much in common anymore with someone who is in high school. Now by no means am i saying I am not friends or don't want to be friends with these amazing people! They are amazing souls and I LOVE them to death!! I adore being around them and wish I got to see them more! I guess I just realized that college has really changed me, but for the better I think.
When I look back at high school it was... interesting. I had some of the best times in high school but I also had some pretty crappy times! High school is DANG hard! I feel for all those kids cause it's not easy. College is a lot easier in different ways. Socially. But college matures you. I think it has helped me become who I want to be! It's given me motivation to accomplish things I never knew I could or wanted to do!
When I am around all these high school friends, I admit I kind of miss High school. I miss all the activities and clubs. I miss some of my classes with my friends and some of the amazing teachers I had. But I really like college better. I would never go back to high school. Once was enough. High school is a great learning experience and I think that going through high school you grow up as well!
I am excited for all of those who are graduating in a few weeks! :) I remember graduation and how scared I was. It's a hard experience. Lots of mixed emotions and a BORING stressful week! But once it's over it's very rewarding! I am ecstatic for them because I know they will get into college and feel the same way I do! At least I hope they do! :)

Girls Night

So tonight my friends and I had sort of a girls night. They came over and we watched a tear jerking chick flick with which the majority of us cried in. Yes, and I am not afraid to admit it! haha We watched "A Walk to Remember" Very cute but sad movie! To all the guys out there, if you haven't seen that movie I suggest you watch it because that is what girls want! The guy in that movie is super sweet! :) haha Now I sound cheesy!
After our "girls night" we bought a bunch of stuff to do s'mores and we went in my friends backyard and roasted marshmallows and star bursts. Have you had roasted star burst?! Like a slice of heaven!! It was my first time eating them and they made me happy inside!! We had a heck of a time starting the dumb fire. The wood was kind of wet so that tends to make these things difficult. But we succeeded, and by we I mean my friend. We all cheered her on, whoo to the hoo! :)
We talked and laughed. Than laughed and talked. We had a grand ol' time! Sadly, the fire didn't last very long. But we still had fun telling stories and eating candy and marshmallows. Twas very berry fun! Summer is on it's way my friends!

Time to Shine

So tonight I went to a play that my 13 year old niece and 5 year old nephew were in. It was a compilation of a bunch of songs from different plays like Grease, Wicked and Hairspray. It's a program called show stoppers. It was SO cute! There were a bunch of little kids and seeing them sing and dance was adorable! :)
But seeing all of these kids on stage really made me miss acting and being in plays. Sure i am in choir but it's not the same. I miss being in plays! I used to be in plays when i was younger. i was in Aladdin and Wizard of Oz. I loved it! Some of my best memories are from them! So, I decided tonight that I am going to try out for another play! I really want to be on stage again! :) I am so pumped to try out but the only play that has try outs coming up is one I have never heard of. It's "They're singing my Song." Heard of it? Well, I hope it's good. I am going to give it a go!!
I have a huge case of stage fright. Maybe trying out for the plays will help me get over it. At least a little bit. Maybe... Anywho, despite my stage fright I love the adrenaline the stage gives me. It pumps me up. I hate the feeling I get right before I go on but once I am on I crave it! haha It's great!
But tonight was a blast. My niece has several lines and even had a whole song she sang by herself. Also called... A solo! haha She did amazing! My nephew was so adorable. Seeing him dancing was the cutest thing ever! LOVED IT! :) I am glad I went!

My new Goal

So I am trying to make some changes in my life. I have a lot of goals I am setting and I have had them set for the longest time but I never do them. Why is that? I think I may have finally figured it out, at least I hope I have (cross your fingers for me!) I think it's cause I have set too many goals at a time. Even though they are small, well some of them are, they all build up and it is kind of overwhelming.
Ok, I absolutely LOVE brushing my teeth. There is nothing better than the feeling of a clean mouth. "Dirty mouth? Clean it up with Orbit!" haha Nawh, I actually just barely got done brushing my teeth! It feels marvelous I say! When I went and stayed with my sister in Wisconsin I learned all about teeth. My brother in law is in Dental school and is almost done so he likes to teach everyone things. haha I got a 45 min. lesson on how to properly brush your teeth. It was good I guess because I learned I was doing it very wrong. (Yes, it is possible to brush your teeth VERY wrong!) So now it takes me twice as long to brush my teeth and I usually took a pretty long time before I learned all the specifics! But at least I am doing it the right way. Right?
So, have I put you to sleep yet with my boring-ness? You are probably thinking, whoa this girl is ADD! She was just talking about goals and KA-POW now she is talking about brushing her teeth? Say what? Hold your horses, I have a point. I will tie it all in! :)
So we were talking about goals before. Now one of my goals is flossing. I love brushing my teeth but HATE flossing! I have no idea why that is. Weird, hmmm... But I can just never get myself to do it. Well, my brother in law also taught me that flossing is very important. He said that if you don't floss you can get very bad gingivitis down in between your teeth and he gave me some examples of some extreme cases in which I will not divulge because no one needs to hear or read such things! He said if you never floss you may someday even lose your teeth. Yay for dentures!! Weather he was trying to scare me or not, it kind of did! haha So now that is one of my many goals, to floss every night!
Anywho, the point I am trying to make is yes that is a tiny goal but with my many other goals they add up and than none of them get done! So my new goal is to take one goal at a time! Ironic, huh? So, I hope this one actually works!!

Friends

I am in a stage of life where the friends you make can and will truly become your best friends for life. Now, I am still pretty good friends with some of my high school friends and I see myself staying good friends with some of them. But as time passes I am seeing us slowly grow apart. And that is sad. The saddest part is I don't really have control over it. It just kind of... happens. I guess it's just our time. I guess it has to happen eventually. It kind of sounds like I am talking about dieing! haha Well, the good thing is I will at least always have the memories of the times me and my friends had. And even if our friendship ends on a bad note I know we still had some great times together! And that made it so worth while!

mY EducaTion

Lately, I have had a really hard time coming up with things to write about. Writing has always come very easy to me and I have always loved it. If I am given a topic or subject to write on, I can have a paper done in the snap of a finger. But if I get to pick whatever I want, without any guidelines I have a hard time thinking of something. There are just too many options. As you can see, apparently I have chosen to write about how I have nothing to write about. Pretty ironic, huh? Well, it's all I got!
English has always been my favorite subject. Reading and writing have been a slice of cake. (mmmm, yum!) I have thought about getting an English degree but there are many things holding me back. With an English degree you pretty much can only teach school or be a journalist. I am not cut out for teaching, it's not for me in any way, shape or form! And I just don't think I would like being a Journalist. I think I would get a writers block too often. I like writing more for a hobby
So I have also been thinking a lot about my major lately. What do I want to do with my major? And better yet, is this really the major I want? I am currently a Criminal Justice Major and am planning on switching to a psychology major come this next semester. I FINALLY decided I wanted to do psychology. I felt so lost for the longest time because I didn't know what I wanted. But now I feel at peace with my future knowing I have some kind of a plan! But I really do love Criminal Justice. It is so fascinating to me so that is what I am planning on minoring in.
My dream job is to become a profiler or forensic psychologist. Now, for those who have no idea what those are I am here to help! A profiler is someone who helps solve more severe crimes like murder/rape ect... They try to think like the killers or perpetrator so as to find what their next move will be.
A forensic psychologist is basically a psychologist that talks to people convicted of more serious crimes. They evaluate them and establish if they are mentally stable or not and than testify in court stating weather they were consciously aware of their actions at the time.
Although these jobs would be a dream come true I am not sure how likely it is I would ever actually get to do them. These kind of jobs are hard to get and it's very competitive. But I haven't completed given up but I don't want to be living in a dream either. I have also thought about specializing and being a child psychologist. I think that would be kind of cool. Gosh, even thinking about it makes me want to start now on my actual degree! I want to take all of these cool psych. classes so I know what kind of psychologist I want to be! Come on school... Hurry up and start!! :)
